Anita Jackson dedicated her life and career to making Jefferson County a better place for working, learning, and living. She was a member of numerous educational, religious, and public service organizations throughout the community, and held many board and trustee positions over the years. The recipients of this scholarship should have her same desire and passion for community service.
This scholarship is open to all Chamber Members and their Employees.
Possible use of funds could be:
- Tuition for college coursework to advance career prospects
- Continuing education programs in specialized fields
- Certification or licensing fees (e.g., nursing, real estate, IT)
- Examination fees for professional certifications or licensing exams
- Textbooks, materials, or software required for courses or certification programs
- Workshops, conferences, or seminars for professional development
- Online courses or training platforms
- Professional organization membership fees that enhance career growth
- Equipment or tools necessary for career advancement (e.g., technology or instruments)
- Travel expenses related to attending in-person courses, exams, or workshops
Applicants must include:
A brief essay describing what the scholarship will be used for, who you are, and why you volunteer where you do. Please note: employer-sponsored volunteer hours do not qualify.
Two letters of recommendation – one from a community service organization and one from a person of your choice.
