Scholarship Information:

Anita Jackson dedicated her life and career to making Jefferson County a better place for working, learning, and living. She was a member of numerous educational, religious, and public service organizations throughout the community, and held many board and trustee positions over the years. The recipients of this scholarship should have her same desire and passion for community service.

This scholarship is open to all Chamber Members and their Employees.

Possible use of funds could be:

Tuition for college coursework to advance career prospects
Continuing education programs in specialized fields
Certification or licensing fees (e.g., nursing, real estate, IT)
Examination fees for professional certifications or licensing exams
Textbooks, materials, or software required for courses or certification programs
Workshops, conferences, or seminars for professional development
Online courses or training platforms
Professional organization membership fees that enhance career growth
Equipment or tools necessary for career advancement (e.g., technology or instruments)
Travel expenses related to attending in-person courses, exams, or workshops

Applicants must include:

A brief essay describing what the scholarship will be used for, who you are, and why you volunteer where you do. Please note: employer-sponsored volunteer hours do not qualify.
Two letters of recommendation – one from a community service organization and one from a person of your choice.

By submitting this scholarship application, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

Submission of an application does not guarantee that a scholarship will be awarded.
If awarded, proof of enrollment in an accredited institution must be provided within six (6) months of receiving the scholarship funds. Failure to provide this documentation will result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
You must be a current Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce member or an employee of a member business, and you must be in good standing with the Chamber at the time of application.
